Writing for the album began shortly after the first EP was completed, but the creative spark deepened in the autumn that followed. As Tyler Trejo sat in the hospital the day before Halloween, thinking he might lose his grandfather, the emotional core of Finding Beauty in Pain was born. “Reality is a cruel thing, isn’t it?”

Through this record, Buried in Lies has been reborn — embracing emotional vulnerability and drawing on a diverse range of influences including shoegaze, visual kei, hardcore, and nu metal. The result is a unique, thought-provoking collection of songs that expand the boundaries of metalcore while staying true to the band’s roots.
